u16s come very close, u19s secure great win

Our u16 basketball team were in action against St. Patrick's CGS on Friday 19th November. St Patrick's led comfortably enough through the first two quarters. Chanel were strong on the court and worked well as a team, but their shooting accuracy was letting them down. Some great individual plays, such as a decisive basket stopping block from Daragh Buckley and a steal from John Igbinovia led the comeback in the third and final quarters. Chanel upped their game and fought back to lose narrowly by a point 35-34 at the final whistle in favour of St. Patricks. Our motm and top scorer was Daniel Senior.

The u19s picked up where the u16s left off and secured their first great win.

They got off to a slow start and were behind 10-1 at the end the first quarter. They quickly picked up the pace and by the end of the second quarter the gap was reduced to 12-9 to St Patrick’s with Callum Egan and Finn O'Neill making some great plays in a very close game. As they headed into the 4th quarter the score was 18-20 to Chanel. In the last quarter Chanel played some great passes to win out 35-28 in the end.
