There was a great buzz in the school on the 26th September as over 35 students gathered in the Canteen to celebrate European Day of Languages and to share their languages from all over the world.
We had great fun learning to say Hello in different languages from Arabic to Ukrainian.
The lads worked on this video to celebrate the multicultural nature of our school and promote inclusion. With the help of "green screen" technology we could be in countries all over the world and appreciate what an interesting and multicultural environment we have here in Chanel.
On the day we also asked all students to fill in a questionnaire about the languages they speak at home. We discovered that there are an incredible 20 languages (other than English/Irish) spoken by our students and Russian is the most widely spoken foreign language across our student population.
So maybe try a different greeting, the next time you meet someone in the corridor...
