It's fantastic to see lots of teams out training after school again and we've had a number of games across Gaelic Football, Basketball and Football in the last week alone.
Well done to the Senior Gaelic Football Team above and coaches O'Sullivan & Greene on a fantastic win to start off their season.
They staged a massive 2nd half comeback (down 1-2 to 3-4 at half time) to overcome Ardee 3-11 to 3-07 at the final whistle.

St. Joseph's Rush 3 - 9 Chanel College Chanel Senior Soccer team enjoyed a comprehensive win over St. Joseph's of Rush despite an early goal from the home team against the run of play in the first round of the cup. Chanel dominated early play and St. Joseph's goalkeeper pulled off some fine saves to deny the visitors. A free kick against Chanel on the edge of their box was curled into the net just beyond the tips of David Corbett's fingers giving th elads from Rush the edge. Despite this and to their great credit, the men of Chanel kept their heads up and continued with their passing game pulling Rush's midfield and defence in every direction in the hopes of finding the gaps. This paid off with an equalizer five minutes later when TJ Tighe slotted home after some great support play from Aaron Hughes and Scott Lynch. Just after the half hour mark, Sean Hayden headed home from an inch-perfect Lewis Moore corner to give Chanel the lead for the first time. Aaron Hughes and Jamie Keating gave attacking options up and down the line as well as clearing everything that was thrown at them and it was Aaron's willingness to fight for every ball that led to TJ's second goal just before half-time. David Corbett ensured our players were fully tuned in with constant support and communication from the back. James Keating and Luke Senior were imperious at the heart of the defence. Nothing was allowed past them and they laid the ground work for attack after attack by making the right call each and every time. Sean Hayden and Scott Lynch were equally at home on the attack or running things from the centre circle and when loose balls broke, Callum Greene and Sean Connor cleaned up with cool heads and solid passing. The second half saw further goals from Sean Hayden running onto a monster of a kick out from David Corbett and shortly after, a wonderful individual effort from Lewis Moore, bringing the score line to 5-1 to Chanel. Sean Connor was rewarded for his immense work rate with Chanel's sixth goal. Rush roused themselves for the last quarter to give Chanel a scare with two consolation goals but Chanel weren't done yet. Sean Gorman, Cian Bradley, Sean Byrne, Jake Sheridan and Cillian Maye all made an impact from the bench with Jake powering in a low drive to the corner of the net and Sean Byrne's speed putting him in position to nab two very late goals. A fantastic first game of the season. But this team are just getting started. Watch this space.
