It has been a very successful few weeks in the Sports Department in Chanel, with two teams bringing home silverware.
The 1st Year football team played out a super win in the north Dublin FINAL on February 28th, winning 5-0 in the end. The entire team carried themselves extremely well throughout the competition as they represented the school. This is hopefully the first of many trophies for these young men in Chanel. Tony O’Brien also received a special man of the match award presented to him on the day by the referee.
The week before it was the turn of the u14 Year Badminton Team (Alvin Abraham, Ben Bergin, Andrei Jauca, CJ Madigan and Tyrese Scott) who won the county finals and were crowned Dublin Schools Division 5 League champions.
Fighting for every point, they overcame a strong Goatstown team that had beaten them earlier in the season. Well done to all the team on this great achievement.
The 1st and 2nd Year Badminton teams also had two great wins over Ardgillan CC this week and are showing great progress.
