Spanish Students win 3rd prize in Languages Connect Competition

They will spend one week in Spain this summer doing a language course as part of their amazing prize.

5th year Spanish students Aaron Freir and Ross Carolan won 3rd prize in the language competition organised by Languages Connect, the Consejería de Educación, the Castilla y León Regional Government and the Spanish Tourist Office in Dublin

The winners produced a 2 minute video in Spanish illustrating an itinerary for "A weekend in Castilla-León" in which they demonstrated their creativity, language competence and cultural knowledge. They also harnessed their recording, editing and technology skills to use the school Green Screen to great effect. The final product is extremely professional and certainly impressed the judges.

Aaron and Ross won the 3rd Prize of a one-week language course in the city of Salamanca (Castilla y León). The scholarship also includes accommodation for the two students and their teacher who will accompany them this summer 2023.

There will be a formal reception for the students in the Spanish Embassy in Dublin on the 15th of May where they will receive their award and be recognised for all their hard work.

Thanks to Ms Bradley as the IT manager for her guidance during the process of the video recording. Thanks also to Ms López for supporting, encouraging and supervising the students' work.

And the biggest congratulations goes to Ross Carolan and to Aaron Freir for this great achievement.

¡Buen trabajo¡
