There were huge celebrations on Friday 6th March at the North Dublin Metropolitan League Finals and history was made when two Chanel teams won their finals in thrilling games.
First the u19s took to the pitch under the stewardship of coaches Sheridan and McManus to beat a very strong St Aidan's side. It is was a tense game all the way through with both teams holding out 3-3 till close to the end. Thankfully Chanel got their chances to take the game 6-3 at the final whistle to be crowned North Dublin Metropolitan League u19 Champions.
Then it was the turn of the u14s squad who've had an amazing year with Mr McCarthy. They dug deep to withstand a wave of Portmarnock attacks in the 1st half and once they found their rhythm, found the net 3 times, holding Portmarnock scoreless till the end. At the final whistle there was a rapturous pitch invasion as the u19 squad, who had been shouting support and encouragement all the way through the game, ran onto the pitch to jump, lift and hug their fellow North Dublin Metro League Champions.
