CHANEL OPENS IT'S DOORS TO A GROUP OF 24 STUDENTS FROM SPAIN FOR A LANGUAGE EXCHANGE.
Chanel College students warmly welcomed pupils from Instituto Bárbara de Braganza in Badajoz (Extremadura Autonomous Community, southern Spain) for a language exchange.
The visiting students, currently enrolled in Cuarto de la ESO, the equivalent of Transition Year in Ireland, were visiting Dublin for five days.
Chanel Spanish learners from all year groups, along with the 24 visiting students, gathered in the Colin room to participate in a language exchange. They prepared several presentations about themselves, the culture and the language of their respective countries. All the students created their presentations in the language they are learning in each school.
Afterwards, there was a small food gathering where they interacted and talked for a while. The menu contained lovely chicken rolls made in the Canteen and some Spanish pastries called "magdalenas' and 'palmeritas'. Tea, coffee, and refreshments were also served.
Later on, students split up into different groups to tour the school facilities and attend some classes, accompanied by our Chanel ambassadors.
Both nationalities shared their thoughts on the activity and wrote some comments on post-it notes to wrap up the day.
Ms. López would like to express her gratitude to all the students and teachers involved for their generosity in opening their classes for the experience. She would also like to thank the staff in the Canteen for their assistance with cooking, setting up, and serving beverages. Lastly, a special thanks to Fr. Cormac from the Marist Fathers (whose Spanish is impeccable) for joining us for the day.
