French Language Exchange

We were delighted to welcome our sister Marist school, Institution Sainte Marie (ISM) - les Maristes from La Seyne sur mer near Toulon, on December 2nd 2025.

For the last three years, students in 2nd Year French class have been exchanging emails with students from ISM, but this is the first time we have had an exchange in person.

Madame Gravière, Madame Salsa and 18 students joined us for a fun-filled day on Tuesday.

We packed a lot in:  "Who am I" introduction game, board games challenge, impromptu basketball match, guided classroom visits and teamwork activities in the hall.

All to promote interaction (in our two languages) and enable the correspondents to get to know each other better.

Thank you to Madame Gravière who presented a lovely plaque to Mr Gill for the school and all the students who gave gorgeous Christmas bauble presents to their Chanel correspondents.

On Friday it was the turn of TY French students to get involved, helping the ISM students on a treasure hunt through Dublin city centre to uncover some the city's favourite tourist attractions.

We said our goodbyes and hope that our ISM friends enjoyed this new chapter in inter-Marist relations and cooperation.
