The end of term award ceremonies took place on Thursday 12th December for 1st, 2nd and 3rd years. Certificates were awarded across three main categories: Consistent high quality work, most improved student and stand-out good behaviour. Irish, English and History were the three subjects considered this time.
Good attendance was also highlighted, with those students who didn't miss a single day in the last term being rewarded with Selection boxes, in the spirit of Christmas.
Assemblies were held for each year group and the corresponding year head helped Mr McCarthy award the certificates to those students who achieved across the three categories this term.
Mr McCarthy gave a very inspiring speech to the 3rd years in particular, recognising that they have had a very busy term working hard on their CBAs and they may find the next term even more challenging at times in the lead up to their final assessments in June. But the important message is that if anyone is struggling or needs advice, there is always someone in Chanel to help, be it form teachers, year heads, subject teachers, guidance counsellor etc. and don't be afraid to ask.
Well done to all on their outstanding efforts this term.
