European Day of Languages
European day of Languages took place on Thursday 26th September. To celebrate this day, the Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Department, with the help of Transition Year language students, organised a survey in which all our students in Chanel were asked about the languages they speak fluently.
The results of the survey show that a good number of our students speak two or more languages at home. Apart from English and Irish, other spoken languages in the school are: Romanian, Russian, Polish, Italian, German, Turkish, Kurdish, Latvian, Lithuanian, Chinese, Malaysian, Algerian, Arabic and Maltese.
Everyone that participated in the survey had a chance to win a cinema voucher for the Odeon Cinema as part of a raffle which was held on Tuesday the 24th during the French and Spanish TY class.
The prize winners are as follows:
1st years: Rusnius Ivanauskas
2nd years: Karl Coffey
3rd years: Dean Kinsella
TY: Adam Hughes
5th Years: Kevin Branagan
6th Years: Rhys Foley
Thanks to everyone who took part in the survey and to all the form teachers for their help and in particular to Ms Lopez for all her hard work in organising the event and Ms Repishti who supported her.
