Unfortunately, despite their best and heroic efforts, the u17 football team lost their North Region Final on Friday 31st January.
It was a tough ask for the lads, playing two good sides in St. Aidan's and Coláiste Choilm two days in a row, as the semi-final was played the day before!

The Chanel Cross Country team ran in The Phoenix Park recently with Jamie Keating qualifying for the Leinster’s. The boys proudly represented our school and showed huge effort and determination. Well done to all involved !

Spanish and Art after school classes have been running in Chanel since November. They take place on Mondays from 4 to 5pm in the Art room. All Spanish students welcome!
Students have the opportunity to practise their Spanish skills while they are learning about cultural aspects of the Target Language. As part of the new Junior Cycle specification, this after school activity can help them to build their portfolios, practise their oral skills and give them more knowledge of the cultural aspects of the Spanish speaking...
On Friday 24th January, 6th year students enjoyed an Irish workshop in preparation for their Leaving Certificate Irish Oral Exam. The students remained totally engaged and entertained by the two facilitators as the photos show!
Class 4.2 recently did a project where they had to construct a bridge that was 50cm long and could hold 200g without collapsing. The bridge was constructed using sellotape, PVC glue, lollipop sticks and straws. The entire class designed and built their bridges in groups of three or two. Every bridge met the requirements without collapsing.
Some bridges were built using triangulation while others were straight flat bridges with supports tap...
The above video clip is a collation of lots of examples of students being active as they are learning in the classrooms in Chanel College. What stands out most is how the students are totally engaged and really seem to be enjoying themselves as they learn.
