On Thursday 13th December 3rd year JCSP students took part in a walking tour of Dublin as part of their JCSP Christmas celebration. They visited several historical monuments in Dublin’s city centre such as the Talbot St Memorial to the victims of the 1974 bombings and Jim Larkin’s statue on O’Connell Street.

On Friday 14th December, all 2nd years students with good behaviour records went on an ice-skating trip to Swords on Ice at the Pavilions. They were accompanied by their year head, form teachers and SNAs - many of whom took to the ice to show the lads how it was done!
Initially most people were a little hesitant, staying close to the edge or using the penguin, reindeer or seal skating aids. However, by the end of the session, lots were whizzing around showing off their moves and doing great twists and turns.
On Wednesday 12th December 5th & 6th year French students went to see the French film Keeper in the IFI.
In class the day before, prior to seeing the film, the students used the Film Studies Guide specially produced by the IFI to analyse the trailer and anticipate what might happen in the film.
As ever with French films, it was interesting, thought provoking and got mixed reviews from the student critics. Back in class, they used the Film Studies Guide again to express their opinions on the film (in French of course)...
A group of TY students were chosen to represent Chanel College on Thursday 6th December at the National Craft & Design Fair 2018 in the RDS as part of their NFTE (Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship) module. Students crafted and designed their own products to sell at the Trade Fair. Well done to all the students involved and the teachers who supported them.
